Bored Clients? 4 Tips to change how your clients experience your salon

Bored Clients? 4 Tips To Change That

Not everyone is friends with their hairstylist, though that would be ideal because it would make going to the hairdressers a little easier for some of us. We would like to believe that everyone loves a day at the beauty salon, but that’s unfortunately not always the case. Frankly, some people find getting a haircut to be completely boring and inconvenient, and a lot of the time, we don't even know they feel this way. They experience the same scenery, same discussions, and the same haircut that looks great but eventually loses the pizzazz it once had.

None of us want this to happen because if your clients hate going through the motions to fix their mop, there’s a change they may try somewhere else next time they get a haircut just because they desire a fresh, new experience. Artistry isn’t everything when it comes to running a business, so it's crucial that you're delivering a top notch experience that makes your customers' hair ritual a pleasant one!

Here are a few ways to help your clients enjoy their time with you just a tiny bit more:

Encourage A Hair Change

A lot of people become bored having the same haircut all the time and could use something different to relive the excitement of trying something brand new, so be ready with some current pictures. There are several resources at our disposal (internet), so search social media to find out what’s new, trending, and would be a perfect fit for their facial structure. Since you should already be promoting your salon or barbershop on sites such as Instagram, you should already be familiarized with current hair styles. As long as you’re up to date on the hottest trends right now, this idea is a quick and easy way to get your customers more invested in your shop.

Update Your Aesthetics

Nothing changes a monotonous experience quite like changing the scenery. We don’t want our clients to change scenery by going somewhere else, so keeping an up-to-date shop is great because it represents yourself as a professional and keeps your clients visually stimulated. Sometimes, it’s the unsaid things that we don’t even realize that are affecting who continues to come back and see us over the years. If your barber or salon chairs are worn and torn, it's in your best interest to make necessary changes. Check out our new salon and barbershop arrivals to see the hottest new equipment and furniture on the market.

Reward Their Loyalty

If you have a client who comes every couple weeks, buys your hair products, and is all around a great customer, an unexpected discount (or any kind of surprise for that matter) will not only improve your relationship with them, but there's a better chance they will tell their friends about your business since you just serviced them beyond their expectations. Surpassing expectations is a great way to build a lasting relationship and give customers a positive reason to talk about your business. Trust us: we know something about rewarding loyal customers.

Complimentary Adult Beverages

After a long day of work, one of the last things we want to do is extend our day with things that feel like chores or work. So, nothing says “relax and enjoy yourself” more than giving your customer something to take the edge off while they’re getting their hair cut, especially in a barbershop setting. It helps create a laid back atmosphere where they can partake in rituals that they wish they were currently partaking in. It enhances whatever experience they already have when they visit your shop, so if it's a good one, stock up on tasty drinks. Hey, they may even throw a bigger tip your way! Laws vary from state to state, so be sure to check legalities before implementing this idea in your shop.
